We took on a huge project - the renovation of a brownstone shell in Harlem (no roof, no floors, no windows) - we were completely inexperienced. Edmund went through the whole project with us with infinite patience and good humor, even though the job was complicated by our insistence on making many design decisions on site - width of staircases, placement of walls and soffits and on incorporating salvaged doors, mantles, tubs and lighting fixtures.
