Project Description
The interior of this historic home had to be totally pulled apart in order to be put back together. Not only was it handsomely redesigned and beautifully redecorated but also, the roof was bumped up to make room for clerestory windows. The cellar was dug out and the exterior walls underpinned to create head height for a gymnasium and laundry room (see before images). All the spaces in-between were equipped with modern amenities, including under floor heating, HVAC and a sound system. The exterior work, which had to be approved by the Landmarks Preservation Commission, included window replacement, façade resurfacing and garden excavation.
